Fort Ord – Tripler Medical Center Hawai – Fort Sam Texas – Ft. Riley Kansas – Ft. Bliss Texas und momentan in Ft. Carson Colorado stationiert.

Hello Billy,

I was a PVT through SPC when I was at Nellingen (Long time ago). I will see if I have any old patches, crests and badges as well as photos.

I hate to say that I fell out of touch with the people from my old unit. Every once in awhile, I will see someone at a conference but after 20 plus years it is rare.

I do have some fond memories of my time over there. Deutschland ist wunderbar . As soon as I get a chance, I will look for old photos from my time period in

Nellingen (89-91). I may have a few but my whole shipment disappeared when I moved back to the USA in the early 90's.

Hello Billy,

I was stationed in the 128th Combat Support Hospital on Nellingen from November 1989 to September 1991 (deployed 24 December 90-May 91 to Saudi Arabia).

I came to Nellingen as a Private and left as a Specialist. I am scheduled to be the next Command Sergeant Major for the

421st MMB. We did fall under 2nd Support Command. We were one of two Combat Support Hospitals on Nellingen (the other was 31st Combat Support Hospital).

The 31st is now at Fort. The 128th CSH task was to provide Level Three medical care for 7th Corps (1 of two such units for the corps).  It was basically a battlefield hospital.

Bliss, Texas and my old unit the 128th was deactivated after the cold war. I'm 41 years young with a wife (Erin 32) and 3 boys 18, 16 and 8 months old.

I live in Colorado Springs (4 more months) and am heading back to Germany this summer (Baumholder).

I have found a old 2nd Support Command patch and my old unit crest for the 128th CSH that I am willing to give you.

I'm attaching the only pictures that I can find from that

time period in Germany and of my family and I. I hope all is well in the Deutschland.

As luck would have it, I will be returning to Germany this summer (Baumholder this time) and will be taking my family to the various places in

Germany for a visit and Nellingen will be on that list (This will likely be my last trip to Germany before I retire).

I will let you know when that will be so I can give you the items. I remember a Italian Restaurant outside the front gate

(I think it was called Mario's). I was wondering if that was still there? I also found an old newspaper clipping from 1989/1990 time frame

referencing my unit's deployment to the Gulf War. I will send the photos soon.

Best Wishes Albert Crews
